Jordi Voltas<\/b> is full professor at the University of Lleida where he explores the ecophysiological and adaptive structure of forest trees and herbaceous plants typical of the Mediterranean region. He has extensively applied stable isotopes of low-mass elements (13C, 18O, 2H, 15N) in ecology, physiology and genetics of plant species. This information has been used to develop models of palaeoenvironmental inference across the Mediterranean basin with the aim of gaining information on the environmental conditions prevailing during the Holocene. His work at FRUITCOM focuses on the definition of cultivation methods based on isotopic studies.<\/p>\n
